Couple Halloween Costumes 2026: 12 AI Group Photo Ideas (Friends & Pets)

Couple Halloween Costumes 2026: 12 AI Group Photo Ideas (Friends & Pets)

You can make a matching Halloween photo with your partner, best friends or pet without buying a single costume. In DramaCanvas, give each person (or pet) their own reference photo, connect them all to one image node, and write in the prompt where each one stands and what each one wears. Because every face has its own label, it's easy to spot when something got swapped — though no method guarantees a perfect likeness. Below: the full steps, 12 copy-ready couple, group and pet costume prompts, and what it costs. About an 8-minute read.

Why do faces get mixed up in group photos?

When a prompt just says "make us a couple's Halloween costume", the model can't tell which face goes with which outfit, so hairstyles, accessories and even features get borrowed across people. The fix is simple: let each reference image cover exactly one subject, then spell out who stands where and wears what.

This makes problems easy to spot and tells you which image to redo, but it's a prompting method, not a face lock. If you only need a solo Halloween avatar, the single-person flow is simpler — see Halloween PFP prompts.

One reference photo for each person and pet, each connected to the same image node

How many photos do two people and a pet need?

Three: one for each person and one for the pet. Each photo should:

  • show one subject only, with the face fully visible — no hands, hats or sunglasses in the way;
  • be clearly lit, so you can see your pet's eyes, ears and markings;
  • be your own photo, or one the other person has agreed you can use.

Don't use an existing photo of the two of you as both references — the model has a hard time separating two people from one picture.

How do you connect the references and write the prompt?

  1. Add the reference photos

Click "Add node" on the bottom canvas toolbar, choose "Image", and add one photo for each person and pet.

  2. Add the image node that will generate

Add another empty "Image" node and connect every reference photo to it. A photo sitting next to it without a connection is not an input.

  3. Insert the references

In the prompt, type @ and pick Image 1, Image 2 and so on from the menu. The prompts below use [Image 1] and [Image 2] as placeholders — replace each one with the matching reference from the @ menu. Numbers follow connection order; after removing or reconnecting a photo, check them again.

  4. Choose the model and size

Pick Nano Banana 2.1, then in the settings summary set the size to 1:1 and resolution to 1K. If multiple references aren't available for that model in your workspace, switch to one that clearly supports reference images.

  5. Paste a prompt and confirm the cost

Copy any idea below, make sure every reference is named on its own, then check the credits shown on the generate button before you submit.

  6. Check each subject, then download

Zoom in on every face, outfit, position and pair of hands — and your pet's eyes, ears and fur — then click "Download image".

How should couple, friend and pet prompts be written?

The formula: each subject's reference and position + their own outfit and colors + one shared setting + one simple action + "follow each reference separately, don't swap" + no text or logos. For three people, add [Image 3] the same way.

PromptCan you check the result? What's wrong
"Put us in couple's Halloween costumes, don't mix our faces"NoDoesn't say who wears what or stands where
"[Image 1] on the left in a deep-purple cape; [Image 2] on the right in a silver-grey cape"YesYou can see if they swapped — but faces still aren't guaranteed
"The three of us hugging and turning, full-face masks"NoHidden faces and tangled limbs — avoid on a first try

All 12 ideas below are set up for Nano Banana 2.1, 1:1, 1K — copy one at a time. For a matching set, keep the same references and roles and generate again with a new pose or expression; each generation is charged separately.

What if faces swap, colors bleed or your pet's fur changes?

  • Faces or hairstyles swap between the two people: make sure every reference in the prompt has a position; switch to standing side by side with arms down so they overlap less.
  • One outfit's color shows up on the other person: give them strongly contrasting colors (deep purple vs. silver grey) and repeat each person's colors after their reference.
  • The third person is missing: three-person shots most often lose [Image 3] — check that all three references appear in the prompt.
  • Your pet's fur or markings change: use a clearer, front-facing pet photo and add "keep the original fur color and markings"; if it's still off, redo that one image.
  • A prop covers a face: move hoods, masks and large props to the side or into the hands, and write "face fully visible".

How many credits does a Halloween group photo cost?

At the listed prices on 2026-10-28, Nano Banana 2.1 costs 4 credits per image at 1K, 5 at 2K and 6 at 4K. Making all 12 ideas once at 1K comes to about 48 credits, not counting redos.

The generate button shows how many credits this image will use

What can't this method do?

  • It can't guarantee an exact likeness: references bring faces closer, but features and expressions can still drift. For ID-level accuracy, use a real photo shoot.
  • More people, more drift: this guide recommends two or three subjects; with four or more, each face is harder to keep.
  • Complex poses and covered faces: hugs, turns and full-face masks make faces block each other — keep it side by side with faces showing at first.
  • Exact pet markings: overall fur color usually survives, but small spots and patterns can change.

To bring the photo to life, use it as a first frame and follow the Halloween short film guide to turn it into a short video.

Frequently asked questions

Why do two faces blend together?

Usually because the prompt never says who is who. Give each person their own reference photo and write where each one stands and what each one wears.

How many people can one photo hold?

This guide sticks to two or three subjects. The more people, the harder it is to keep every face; start with two.

Will it definitely look like me?

No. A reference photo pulls the likeness closer but does not guarantee an exact match, so zoom in and check every face.

Can my pet be in the photo?

Yes. Use a separate, clear photo of your pet, then check the eyes, ears and fur pattern after generating.

How many credits does one group photo cost?

Nano Banana 2.1 is listed at 4 credits per 1K image; with reference photos, the final cost is the number shown on the generate button.

Start with two people, two reference photos and a 1:1 square: one photo each, every reference named with a position and outfit, then check each face. Once that works, add a third person or your pet, or try a new pose for the next photo in your set. Next step: add two reference photos on your canvas, copy idea 01, and make your first Halloween photo together.
