Is Stripe Safe? Paying for AI Video Credits With a Card, Apple Pay or Google Pay in 2026

Is Stripe Safe? Paying for AI Video Credits With a Card, Apple Pay or Google Pay in 2026

When you buy credits or a subscription on DramaCanvas, you're taken to Stripe's checkout page to pay. You can use a card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or Link, and you're charged in US dollars. Below: why paying through Stripe is safe, how to choose between a subscription and a credit pack, why prices are in USD, what happens to credits when a generation fails, and what to check before you pay.

Stripe is the payment provider DramaCanvas uses. The relationship is a standard merchant and payment-provider one; it isn't an endorsement of DramaCanvas by Stripe.

Why does paying on DramaCanvas take me to Stripe?

Because DramaCanvas uses Stripe to process payments, so the card details you enter are received and handled by Stripe.

Stripe is an online payment service used by a huge number of websites and is certified to the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) at Level 1, the highest level. When you click to buy, your browser opens Stripe's hosted checkout page, with an address starting with checkout.stripe.com. After you pay, you're taken back to DramaCanvas.

How to check you're on the right page: the address bar should start with checkout.stripe.com, and the merchant name and amount on the page should match what you picked on the pricing page.

Which payment methods does checkout support?

Cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Link are all enabled.

Payment methodWhen it appearsGood for
Credit / debit cardAlwaysMost people
Apple PayIn Safari or on iPhone, iPad or Mac, with a card added to WalletApple users who don't want to type card details
Google PayIn Chrome and other supported browsers, with a card saved to your Google accountAndroid and Chrome users

If you don't see Apple Pay or Google Pay, your current browser or device usually doesn't meet the conditions. Switch browsers or just pay by card.

What's the difference between a subscription and a credit pack?

A subscription renews automatically and adds credits each period; a credit pack is a one-time purchase.

The pricing page offers monthly, quarterly and yearly subscriptions plus credit packs. For example, the Standard plan is USD 29.90 a month for 1,100 credits, or USD 299.00 a year for 13,200 credits. You can use credit packs alongside a subscription, and images and videos share one credit balance. Check the pricing page for the current plans.

Why am I charged in US dollars?

DramaCanvas checks out in USD; other currencies on the page are estimates at a reference rate.

The pricing page states that prices are shown in USD, checkout is charged in USD and other currencies are conversions. Switching currency doesn't change the credits you get or the USD amount. If your card is in another currency, the final amount on your statement depends on your bank's exchange rate, and some banks charge a foreign transaction fee.

The pricing page notes that checkout is in USD and other currencies are estimates

What happens to credits if a generation fails or I don't like the result?

Credits for a failed generation are returned to your balance automatically; a successful generation you don't like isn't refunded.

Before you generate, the button on the canvas shows the credits this run will cost, and that's the final charge. The same model and specification cost the same on every route. So you can work out your spend before you pay: roughly how many seconds of video, which model, multiplied by its credits per second.

Refunds for credit purchases themselves follow the purchase page and the user agreement, and any mandatory legal rules. Credits can only be used on DramaCanvas and can't be withdrawn, exchanged for cash or moved to another account.

What should I check before I pay?

A one-minute check of these five things avoids most problems.

  1. The address bar

the checkout page starts with checkout.stripe.com.

  2. What you're buying

an auto-renewing subscription or a one-time credit pack.

  3. Amount and period

the USD amount and monthly or yearly billing match the pricing page.

  4. Payment method

if you want Apple Pay or Google Pay, make sure your device and browser support it.

  5. Your account

you're signed in to the DramaCanvas account you want to top up.

Frequently asked questions

Is it safe to pay with Stripe on DramaCanvas?

Payment happens on Stripe's hosted checkout page. You enter your card details directly on Stripe's page, so DramaCanvas never receives or stores your card number. Stripe is a payment service used by a huge number of websites and is certified to PCI DSS Level 1, the highest level in the card industry.

Can I pay with Apple Pay or Google Pay?

Yes. Checkout supports cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Link. Apple Pay usually appears in Safari or on Apple devices when you have a card in Wallet; Google Pay usually appears in Chrome and other supported browsers when a card is saved to your Google account.

Why am I charged in US dollars? What are the other currencies on the page?

Checkout is always charged in USD. Other currencies on the pricing page are estimates at a reference rate to help you compare. Switching currency never changes your credits or the USD amount; the checkout page shows the final amount.

Do I get credits back if a generation fails?

Yes. Credits deducted for a failed generation are returned to your balance. Refunds for credit purchases themselves follow the purchase page and the user agreement, and any mandatory legal rules.

Not sure which plan to pick? Try a model or two with the credits you get when you sign up, see what each generation costs, then decide between a subscription and a credit pack.
